At Sweet Dental, we offer a variety of prosthetic treatments. Fixed prosthetics includes placement of crowns (caps) or bridges. These are used to save a tooth/teeth, which otherwise might need to be removed.

A crown is placed when there is minimal sound tooth structure remaining, or a large amount of the tooth fractures. Crowns:

The damaged tooth is prepared in such a way to allow a crown to fit over the remaining tooth. Impressions are then made of the prepared tooth and the opposing teeth. Afterwards, a temporary crown is made from a composite or acrylic material, which is temporarily cemented. In approximately three weeks, the crown is returned from the laboratory. It is ready for trial fit, and if all parameters are met, cemented permanently.
